During the 2019 Federal election, the Vic Liberal Party displayed signs using the AEC’s purple colour

Fairfax papers called this a ‘Massive Rort’

A court later found that using this purple colour was likely to mislead or deceive a voter & was in contravention of s329 of the Commonwealth Electoral Act

The AEC’s website contains a page relating to the use of the colour purple,

If a similar set of circumstances to 2019 arises where the message, colour and placement of signage combine to potentially mislead someone in relation to casting their vote – particularly deceiving someone into thinking the message is from the AEC – then the AEC can request the removal of the signs or seek an injunction to have the signs removed


Yet the AEC are allowing the YES campaign to display signs using the exact same purple colour, falsely claiming there is nothing they can do

Telling people that would most likely vote NO - not to vote at all, only helps the YES campaign.

Surely Mr Bosi knows that.

Already, YES supporters are sharing Mr Bosi’s comments online, because they know it benefits the YES campaign.

I understand the Mr Bosi is not happy with the AEC, (and no one in the country has more distain for the AEC than I do after their failed malicious prosecution) but I’m not sure why Mr Bosi would be advising his followers to do something that only assists the YES campaign.

If you think the AEC is going to cheat, don’t heckle from the sidelines - volunteer to be a scrutineer.
