2022-04-13 08:34:39 Singapore Airlines are already back to 56% of pre-pandemic capacity. As I observed last year, the pandemic is likely to make SIA stronger and this is what we're seeing now, as it is leading air travel revival in East Asia, while its competitors are struggling.

The other bit of good news is that as its capacity and frequency is still outpacing demand, you can expect (still) good deals on the tickets.

Why are Russians targeting civilians?

2022-04-06 03:40:14 And one more interesting read:

As many observers—including some in China—have pointed out, this could be China’s moment on the international stage to do good for itself and others.

Yet so far, China has failed to seize that opportunity. Instead of trying to prevent the aggression against Ukraine, it gave Putin the green light to invade, asking only that the assault be postponed until after the Beijing Olympics. Right up to the moment of the invasion, China’s Foreign Ministry parroted Russia’s lies about the planned aggressive war being a figment of the West’s febrile imagination. On the eve of the invasion, the Chinese accused the United States of “heightening tensions, creating panic, and even hyping up the possibility of warfare.” The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson added, “The Russian side has said on many occasions that it does not intend to start a war.”

When Russia did invade a few hours later, China stood aside and did nothing, except appeal to high-minded notions of nonintervention and accuse the United States and its European partners of being responsible for Russia’s actions. Ukrainians and other eastern Europeans listened with incredulity as Chinese leaders went on about “Russia’s legitimate concerns on security issues” and the “historical complexities” of their countries’ situation. As Russia’s missiles hit Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Mariupol, causing almost ten million civilians to flee their homes so far, China accused “the U.S.-led NATO” of having “pushed Russia-Ukraine tension to the breaking point.”

2022-04-06 03:28:15 As Hong Kong’s outbreak became the deadliest in the world, among the aid Beijing sent to the financial hub were 1 million packets of honeysuckle, rhubarb root, sweet wormwood herb and other natural ingredients, all mixed according to principles of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM).

Apparently telling the truth on Facebook, even in the wake of Russian invasion, is still forbidden.

CCP and Russian trolls can totally overwhelm the platform with zero retribution. But if you share a bit of historical truth you get banned.

2022-04-04 10:21:59 Last week's signing of the accords by Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong in Washington, opens the door to participation in NASA's Artemis Program which aims to put people back on the Moon by 2025 and fly astronauts to Mars a decade later.

As a result Singaporean companies may hope to play a part in the largest NASA program since the original Apollo.

It also lays foundation for commercialisation of space exploration - including resource mining.
