The mayor of Ashkelon went to the family home of Avera Mengistu this evening to light the first candle of Channukkah....
Avera is a young Israeli man of Ethiopian descent who has mental problems and who crossed into Gaza on September 7, 2014 and is being held captive (dead or alive) by Hamas.
It is great to have such mayors in Israel who do this.
