Dota 2 Short Film Contest

After an unexpected hiatus, we are pleased to announce the return of the Dota 2 Short Film Contest -- and that we're now accepting submissions for this year's event. Filmmakers have until the morning of July 25, 2021 to submit their short film creations of 90 seconds or less to the Dota 2 Steam Workshop to be eligible for consideration. As before, we invite all fans to visit the Workshop to participate in the voting and discussion process to help us select the best entries to be showcased as part of The International 10 broadcast. Upon review of the Workshop ratings and discussions, Valve will nominate the top entries to be featured in the Dota client for a final voting process by the community to determine the winners. Each finalist that places in the top ten will be guaranteed to win $500, and the top three selections will reap prizes of $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000 in recognition of their contributions to the Dota community. As The International Approaches: Introducing Supporters Clubs

Supporters Clubs Today's update introduces Supporters Clubs, a new way for fans to support their favorite teams by purchasing bundles of badges and seasonal equippables -- perfect for showing off allegiance in and out of the lanes. Content in Supporters Clubs is provided by the teams themselves, and 50% of all sales goes to the teams you choose. This content will last until The International commences. In future seasons, it will last through each respective Major. Each team has three bundles to choose from, with an increasing amount of content inside. The Bronze Club includes a badge for your favorite team, the Silver Club includes sprays and emoticons, and the Gold Club includes a special in-game HP-bar badge, loading screens, and voice lines. Badges will appear in multiple places throughout the game, including your friends list, player profiles, the Versus Screen, and the in-game scoreboard. Today we are adding content from 17 teams. As more content from other teams is submitted and approved, they will be added to this list regularly. Teams that aren't able to submit high tier content might be added as well without Silver Club and/or Gold Club enabled. Visit Team Profiles in the DPC tab to join your favorite team's Supporters Club. The International Returns Let it be known -- the Aegis of Champions is in play once more. After a break necessitated by world events, we're happy to officially announce that The International 10 will take place this August in Stockholm, Sweden. It all starts with Group Stage, running August 5 - 8 and setting the field for what's to come. The Main Event kicks off August 10 and continues through August 15, when the final teams battle in the Grand Finals to be crowned TI10 champions – and claim their share of the $40,018,195 prize pool that awaits. Update to Dota Plus and Guilds

The Fall Season is upon us and we're excited to announce updates to Dota Plus and Guilds. The Season begins today and it will run through the beginning of December, 2020. Autumnal Treasure 2020

Dota Plus members can now purchase a new treasure with shards. This treasure features 12 community-created sets for Nyx Assassin, Leshrac, Medusa, Vengeful Spirit, Weaver, Clockwerk, Faceless Void, Doom, Sven, Axe, Crystal Maiden, and Tusk. It also includes the re-introduction of Ethereal and Prismatic gems, with the very rare Blazing Hatchling courier coming pre-equipped with a random one of each. Our plan right now is to have a new seasonal treasure available for purchase with shards every 3 months. The next treasure will be available on Dec 1st, and then again every 3 months after that. This will also align with seasonal quests and seasonal terrains. Updates to Dota Plus In addition to the existing ways to earn shards, Dota Plus members can also earn up to 57,850 shards from a new season of quests for Fall 2020. These extra shards will give the currency you need to take advantage of the Seasonal Treasure.

Dota Plus members can now use the new Role Assistant hero grid arrangement. As the Dota community finds new and different ways for heroes to be played, the new Role Assistant automatically records the picks of every hero in Ranked Roles matchmaking and displays heroes in their most picked roles. This data is updated automatically to highlight the latest trends and is filterable by MMR rank. Several features from the Battle Pass have also moved into Dota Plus:

Introducing DPC Team Profiles

Season 2 of this year's DPC slate is up and running, and today's update includes new Team Profiles, the next piece in an evolving platform of features designed to help you track all the action in Dota competitive play.

You can check out profiles for all Division I and Division II teams by heading to the Watch section of the game. Click on any team to visit their hub which contains team and player stats plus top heroes. You'll also find each team's season schedule which provides an easy way to view upcoming opponents or watch past replays. Stay tuned for more updates as we move through the season of play. We've also added a spoiler-free mode for all DPC content in the client. To use it, just click the Live option in the upper-right of the Watch section and you’ll be opted out of live updates. In this mode you'll have manual controls for revealing match results and current standings. Team profiles will not only provide a way for you to stay connected to your favorite teams, but they will also be an integral part of the upcoming fan content system that’s currently in the works. This update introduced a couple of new things to the unreleased DPC Team Pages in the game. Valve accidentally pushed those pages live in one of the previous updates, but rolled back later.

UI
- Added team achievement (championship) showcase (currently supported: DPC Major, DPC Season, TI1-TI10)
- Added options for purchasing different Fan Support Bundle tiers (1-3)
- Added team stats showcase, including:
- How often this team fights as a unit
- How much this team focuses on creep farming
- How many different heroes this team plays
- Most successful heroes in the last 4 months
- Other places in the DPC hub (including live and upcoming matches) now how the team's side (Radiant/Dire)
