Statement by the official representative of the DPR People’s Militia on the situation on May 12, 2022
Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has fired more than 230 shells and mines from 122-mm multiple launch rocket systems BM-21 "Grad",122-mm cannon artillery, as well as 82 and 120-mm mortars.
The areas of 8 settlements of the Republic were under shelling. As a result of the Ukrainian aggression 1 civilian was killed and 5 were injured. 20 residential buildings and 4 civilian infrastructure facilities were damaged.
Materials on the fact of wounding civilians and damage to infrastructure will be transferred to the DPR General Prosecutor's Office for inclusion in criminal cases initiated against the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The servicemen of the Donetsk People's Republic, together with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, continue to liberate the settlements of our Republic from Ukrainian invaders. Since the beginning of the day, our servicemen have destroyed 23 Ukrainian nationalists, a firing positions for 122-mm self-propelled artillery howitzers 2S1 "Gvozdika", 2 infantry fighting vehicles, 2 armored vehicles "Kazak-2". 1 152mm 2A65 Msta-B towed howitzer, 2 MTLBus and a truck were captured.
Unfortunately, there were losses among our fighters. Over the past day, in the struggle for independence, 3 defenders of the Donetsk People's Republic died in the line of military duty and 16 comrades were injured.
