Bulgarian sailors received humanitarian aid from the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Today, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Donetsk People's Republic delivered humanitarian aid to Bulgarian sailors on the Tzarevna cargo ship in the port of Mariupol.

15 crew members of the Tzarevna were evacuated earlier, all of them got safely their homeland. However, for reasons of ship's safety and security 5 more sailors remain on board, including the captain.

On May 11, an appeal was sent to the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Bulgarian citizens who are in Mariupol, in which they asked for help in delivering water, food, and basic necessities. We urgently considered this appeal, and today, two days after receiving the request, we delivered everything necessary on board.

The fact that the Bulgarian government has literally abandoned its seafarers to their fate causes not just bewilderment, but outright indignation towards the position of this country. We have repeatedly tried to contact the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss details of the sailors' evacuation, however, these attempts have not led to a constructive result.

For its part, the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the relevant ministries and departments of the Republic and Russia, will continue to take concrete steps in the future so that foreign sailors are provided with everything necessary and have the opportunity to return home safely as soon as possible.
