The 2022 FIFA World Cup kicked off in spectacular fashion at Al-Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, Qatar, after 12 years of preparation.
Opening ceremonies were held at the 60,000-capacity venue before the football action started, inspired by one of the pillars of Arab culture, the tent.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was in attendance and was accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council.
