the group debuted on August 8, 2016, with their single titled Square One, which resulted in "𝑊𝐻𝐼𝑆𝑇𝐿𝐸" their first number-one single in South Korea. The single also resulted in "𝑩𝑶𝑶𝑴𝑩𝑨𝒀𝑨𝑯", their first number one single on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart, which set a record as the most-viewed debut music video by a Korean artist. With their commercial success in their first five months, they earned New Artist of the Year at the 31st Golden Disc Awards and 26th Seoul Music Awards. 𝔹𝕃𝔸ℂ𝕂ℙ𝕀ℕ𝕂 is a female K-pop artist who has the highest position on the Billboard Hot 100, at number 55 with "Ddu-Du Ddu-Du", and on the Billboard 200, at number 40 with the EP titled Square Up. They are the first and only female K-pop group to enter and top the Emerging Artists Billboard chart.
