A person once complained to his Sheikh about his difficult circumstances, the sheikh told him "Write down all your blessings then write your troubles and bring it to me" The person returned to say he is not able to complete the list of blessings, the sheikh said yes of course, you will never be able to count the blessings that Allah has bestowed upon you for Allah has said "If you were to count the blessings of Allah , you would not be able to enumerate them" Quran.
The Sheikh then said the second option is to write down all your troubles, you will find it to be just a handful, then compare it to your list of blessings.
