American soldiers captured tankettes after the end of WW2.
These "toy" tanks terrified enemy soldiers, because each of these mini-tanks could carry up to 100 kg of explosives. At first they were equipped with two electric motors, then they switched to gasoline ones.
The control was carried out at a distance by a controller.
