Tesla employees in Shanghai will be living on the job
They had no idea how the three-week plant shutdown would turn out because of another outbreak of the coronavirus. The company announced that it would resume work in a "closed loop" mode - employees will now live at the plant and sleep on the floor.
Each worker will be given a sleeping bag, a mattress, three meals a day, and places to wash and rest. But no special sleeping quarters are needed - the workers will have to sleep on the floor in a designated area.
The downtime cost the plant 40,000 Tesla underproduction.
