Singapore reported 1 new death, an 86-year-old unvaccinated woman.

The death toll now stands at 50, and it is the 13th death in August.

She had a history of cancer and hypertension.

62 COVID-19 cases are linked to the North Coast Lodge cluster.

All residents will be tested and have been placed on Movement Restriction Order.

This is the highest number of cases reported in a dormitory related cluster since Sep 2020.

2021-08-21 03:52:30 An unvaccinated 82-year-old man has died from COVID-19 complications yesterday. He is the 47th death in Singapore, and the 10th coronavirus death this month.

The man had a heart problems and cystic kidney disease.

In other news - 2 new clusters have surfaced, a FairPrice supermarket in Kallang Bahru and one linked to an indivdual. 40 new cases were annouced yesterday.

This is due to different Covid-19 strategies. Hong Kong is tightening travel measures and Singapore is relaxing them.

Both cities remain committed to facilitating travel between each other.

1) Travel lanes will be set up with Germany and Brunei with Singapore.

Fully vaccinated travellers will not have to serve a stay-home notice but they will be subject to a "rigorous testing regime".

2) Border restrictions for travellers will also be eased if they are coming from from Hong Kong and Macao.

Visitors from these places can apply for the Air Travel Pass and take a COVID-19 test on their arrival in lieu of a stay-home notice.

3) Those travelling and fully will get passport stickers on their arrival in Singapore.

They will also be eligible for vaccination-differentiated safe management measures.

Only those fully vaccinated with a vaccine recognised by the WHO listing will be accepted.
