2022-05-22 20:07:18 both / either / neither

Davom etamiz...

Both - ikkalasi ham
Either - unisi yoki bunisi
Neither - birortasi ham emas

"Both" doim ko'plikda keladi:
both windows, both children...

Qolganlari birlikda keladi:
either window, neither child...

Bu so'zlar aniq artikl (the), ko'rsatish olmoshlari (masalan: this) va tegishli ma'nosidagi (masalan: my) so'zlardan oldin kelsa "of" ishlatsa ham ishlatmasa ham bo'ladi:
I like both (of) those pictures - Menga anavi rasmlarning ikkalasi ham yoqadi.

Lekin us, you, them so'zlaridan oldin kelsa oraga "of" qo'yiladi:
Alisher has got two sisters. Both of them are married - Alisherni ikkita qizi bor. Ikkalasi ham turmushga chiqqan.

Boshqa misollar:
I invited Bobur and Alisher to my party but neither of them came - Men Bobur va Alisherni kechamga taklif qilgan edim, lekin ikkalasi ham kelmadi.

Would you like tea or coffee? You can have either? - Choy yoki kofe xohlaysizmi? Qaysi birini olasiz?

Neither qo'yiladigan gapda inkor so'zi ham kelib qolsa, either qo'yiladi:
I don't like either of them - Men ularning ikkalasini ham yoqtirmayman.
