A) After prepositions or preposition phrases :
Without ,etc.+-ing. Don’t say : Do your work without to speak . Say : Do your work without speaking . ========= Instead of ,etc. + -ing . Don’t say : He went away instead to wait . Say : He went away instead of waiting .
