Why Bad things happen to Me?

When bad things happen to other people, it’s natural to feel sorry for them, while at the same time inwardly thanking God that it wasn’t you. But it’s a whole different story when you’re the one with the terminal diagnosis, you just lost your job, you’re paralyzed from an auto accident, or the person you love the most walks out of your life. When you are the one suffering–it is easy to start blaming God and asking, “Why me?” But it is during the crisis moments of your life that your real character is revealed. It is the moment of truth–when your faith is put to the test. Christians know that being a follower of Christ doesn’t mean that life will be a bed of roses; far from it–for you can be sure the devil will work even harder to discourage you and separate you from Jesus! However, during the dark times, God is even closer–all you need to do is have faith and trust in the only One who can save you. The Bible says in Psalm 34:17, “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles.” And in Deuteronomy 31:8: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” So, when times get tough and you start feeling sorry for yourself, instead of blaming God and asking, “Why me?”–cry out to Him for help as instructed in 1 Chronicles 16:11: “Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually.” And then trust Him to take care of you in the way that He sees best! Text: Psalm 46:2-3 “Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;” “Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.”Nehemiah 8:10 “Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”, Exodus 15:2
