A Russian UAV, which is considered to be an Orlan-10 model, crashed into a mountainous terrain in the Kurtün district of Gümüşhane. Citizens who went to collect mushrooms found the UAV, which could not be determined when it crashed.
According to the information obtained, the citizens who went to collect mushrooms in the mountainous land between the village of Tilkicek and Kazıkbeli Plateau in the town of Kürtün saw a damaged Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) on the ground. The security forces, who were dispatched to the region upon the notice, determined that the UAV, with a wingspan of approximately 3 meters, was a Russian-made unarmed Orlan-10 model for reconnaissance.
It is evaluated that the UAV with a range of 1,400 kilometers came to this region on its own after the signal was lost from the Ukraine region or the Syrian region due to the war.
The UAV, which was taken from the scene by the security forces, was sent to Ankara for examination.
