CIVIL WAR : BRABANT DECLARES ITS INDEPENDENCE FROM BELGIUM !
Along with Limburg, Flanders and Wallonia, Brabant is one of the Belgian regions with a strong identity.
On Tuesday, April 27, 2021, a group of inhabitants (known as New-Brabantian Interests) of this region of the low countries announced the declaration of the independence of this territory from Belgium and the Netherlands. They called on all citizens of these two countries to disobey the law and refuse to pay taxes to "perfidious Belgica/Hollandia".
If this declaration of independence seems symbolic, it is not impossible that it is the beginning of a civil war in Brabant. In any case, it reflects the current state of affairs, with the break-up of the Belgian Kingdom.
