Describe an event you attended in which you didn’t like the music played

You should say:

What the event was
Where you were
What the music was like
And explain why you did not enjoy the music

Well, our company holds a year-end party every year as a way to express the gratitude to us all workers, who spend time working harder for the entire year to achieve our yearly target. So, every third week of December, before we take New Year’s Day break, we always have a whale of a time enjoying the once-a-year office party. Actually, our party is usually held in our office since it’s more convenient for all of us and because it’s really spacious. However, last year was really different, our company decided to hold the party in one of the function rooms of the most popular hotel in our city. The place was really elegant and everyone looked fantastic in their best dress and suit. The ambiance was really cozy, although it was too formal for us, knowing that we get used to holding the party only in the office. Also, chill-out music played in the background made us feel relaxed. So you can imagine how lovely it was. However, a few hours later, after we enjoyed our sumptuous dinner, the mood completely changed – the DJ played disco music. Well, I have nothing against that kind of music though, I love disco, but unfortunately during that party, the sound system was terrible when they started playing disco music. The bass was just too loud that I could feel the thumping beat of my heart suddenly. To make myself comfortable, I got out of the function room and went to the comfort room straightaway. I spent a few minutes there just to make myself better. I told no one about how I felt at that time as I didn’t want to be misinterpreted. I just can’t bear loud music, I think I’m a highly-sensitive person as I easily get triggered. Anyway, despite my experience, I was still able to enjoy that party with my co-workers and I learned that self-care is necessary.

There is an ever-increasing use of technology, such as tablets and laptops, in the classroom. It is often argued that this is a positive development, whilst others disagree and think it will lead to adverse ramifications. This essay agrees that an increase in technology is beneficial to students and teachers. This essay will discuss both points of view.

It is clear that the Internet has provided students with access to more information than ever before. Moreover, learners have the ability to research and learn about any subject at the touch of a button. It is therefore agreed that technology is a very worthwhile tool for education. Wikipedia is a prime example, where students can simply type in any keyword and gain access to in-depth knowledge quickly and easily.

However, many disagree and feel that technology deprives people of real human interaction. Human interaction teaches people valuable skills such as discourse, debate and empathy. Despite this, human interaction is still possible through the internet and this essay disagrees technology should be dismissed for this reason. For instance, Skype and Facebook make it possible for people to interact in ways that were never before possible.

While the benefits of technology, particularly the internet, allow students to tap into limitless sources of information, some still feel that people should be wary of this new phenomena and not allow it to curb face to face interaction. However, as long as we are careful to keep in mind the importance of human interaction in education, the educational benefits are clearly positive.

The most important thing of learning new words is that you must learn how and where you can use the words.

Sample Answer

Learners are becoming ever more dependent on technology, such as the Internet and mobile devices. This essay will discuss one of the main problems associated with dependence on computers and suggest a viable solution.

The principal problem with over-reliance on technology, such as tablets and computers, is plagiarism. Students often use search engines to answer a question and simply copy the text from a website, rather than thinking about the question. This practice is not only prohibited in schools and universities but also stunts a student’s intellectual development. For example, many teachers complain that students copy web pages straight from Wikipedia word for word rather than giving a reasoned answer to their questions.

A solution to this worrying problem is asking students to email their answers to teachers and teachers using anti-plagiarism software to detect copying. Moreover, students would be made aware of this practice and this would inspire them to answer questions using their own words, rather than someone else’s. For instance, many universities already use this kind of software to scan course work for plagiarism and it could be extended to include all homework, by learners in both secondary and tertiary education.

In summary, one of the main problems with over-use of technology in education is plagiarism and this can be solved through the use of plagiarism detection software. It is predicted that more and more students’ will email their work to their teacher and this work will be scrutinised for plagiarism.

With growing population in cities, more and more people live in a home with small or no outdoor areas.

Is it a positive or negative development?

These days an increasing number of people are living in an accommodation with small or no outdoor spaces in urban areas. In my opinion, this is a negative development for several reasons.

On the one hand, living in a home with little space may lead to various health problems. Firstly, being constrained in a limited area and have no chance of outdoor activity increase the likelihood of depression. Besides, the lack of air fluency indoors causes respiratory-related disease and undermine the working efficiency. Living in that atmosphere for a long time would only bring bad behaviours such as laziness. Finally, unable to do outdoor activities would cause obesity. If individuals had no space to do some active tasks such as gardening, they would run a sedentary lifestyle, as a result they would become obese.

0n the other hand, it sounds more economical to live in small houses, especially in city centres. House owners can save money by renting an accommodation which is smaller and cheaper. However, there are still some aspects in which spacious outweigh its counterpart. Larger spaces for extended families act as an incentive for their children to develop physically and mentally. It is apparent that by playing outdoor activities in gardens or open spaces people can release stress and children can enhance their immune systems.

In conclusion, while modest accommodations can benefit people in terms of budget, when it comes to healthy lifestyle spacious places will turn out to be the best solution. Therefore, people should base on their individual situations to make the right decision.

2021-03-02 14:08:40 Speaking Part 2 in Uzbekistan — 01.03.2021

Describe a skill you need long time to learn

You should say

What it is
Where you can learn it
How to learn it
And explain why you need long time to learn it-

I would like to talk about learning a language, which definitely requires a lot of time and patience. I think many people go into learning a language expecting to speak fluently after a few short months which can lead them to disappointment. I think to truly be fluent in a language, you need at least 3 years, preferably living and immersing yourself in that country. Language starts with the grammar and sentence structure, then being able to listen and respond, then onto reading and writing which is a whole different ball game. Even those who can communicate effectively would still struggle to read a novel or literature in that language. You can begin to learn a language in various ways. For one, you can learn it in school and a language center, which is a good base for grammar especially. Secondly, you can study it on your own, maybe even by watching youtube videos, series/movies, listening to music, etc. which is becoming more of a trend nowadays due to the high costs of studying at a language center. Moreover, you can learn it by starting a relationship with someone and figuring out a way to communicate after some time I think it usually happens fast when you catch feelings for someone who doesn't speak the same language! Lastly, you can move to that country and pick it up there. I would say this is the best way, although many don't have this opportunity I think language learning is a tedious process because it involves many different skills, such as memorization, pronunciation, grammar, etc., and requires you to think out of the box, which doesn't come easily for some. Moreover, I think it takes your brain a long time to accept another language when you've spent your whole life making memories in one. All in all, it is no easy task.
