Today is 154th death anniversary of the great English Scientist "Michael_Faraday.
His major contribution was in the field of electricity and magnetism. He was the first to produce an electric current from a magnetic field, invented the first electric motor and dynamo, demonstrated the relation between electricity and chemical bonding, discovered the effect of magnetism on light, and discovered and named diamagnetism, the peculiar behaviour of certain substances in strong magnetic fields. He provided the experimental, and a good deal of the theoretical, foundation upon which "James_Clerk_Maxwell erected classical electromagnetic field theory.
It has been said, with some truth, that Faraday was Sir Humphry Davy’s greatest discovery. The unit of electrical capacitance is named the farad in his honor, with the symbol F. It is not an accident that "Albert_Einstein used to keep photos of three scientists in his office: Isaac Newton, James Clerk Maxwell and Michael Faraday.
