The reputation of the US among the 5 largest economies in Europe has slipped to its lowest level in the last 9 months.
However, reputation of the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain have significantly improved since the start of Russia's military operation in Ukraine. In the two weeks following February 24, the average net favourability* for the United States among the aforementioned countries jumped by 9 percentage points, ending up at about 25% through the end of May.
It may be explained by the mass shooting at an elementary school in Yuvalda and cancellation of federal protection of the right to abortion.
*Net favourability – the proportion of respondents who have a positive opinion of the United States, minus the proportion of those who have a negative attitude towards the United States.
