2022-06-13 13:04:18 I have been immersed in stories of Christian persecution for many years now. I’ve had people in my home who had knives held up to their throat in an attempt to get them to deny Christ. One man was hung upside down and had boiling oil poured over his feet. I know that things can get REALLY bad for Christians, especially under communism, which is what is attempting to take over our country. Meditating in this dark reality is very heavy. A spirit of fear can easily slip in and drag us down to defeat before we are even in the battle. We must reject this spirit of fear. But we also must not put our heads in the sand. Instead, we must keep our eyes on Jesus and ask Him for our assignment.

What does Jesus want us to be doing right now? Focus on offense, not defense. Surviving and even thriving in persecution begins now. The habits of the heart are what the battle is all about.

The spirit of fear, lust, rage, bitterness, etc. will bring us down long before the communists will.

Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit will bring us victory now and in the day of trial.

Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus and bless His Holy name. Today, will be a good day if we pursue Him wholeheartedly. The enemy fears children of God, bought with the blood of Christ, more than anything in the world.

Is this not the major struggle of faith?

“If God loves me, why did....”

No matter the pain in our lives, God’s response has already been given. What God will do about our pain has already been done on the cross. All that is needed for our healing is to apply what Jesus has already accomplished.

You might say, “But I’ve asked for healing,” or “I’ve asked for answers to my prayers and I haven’t got it!”

Have you applied the cross of Jesus to all areas of your life? Have you considered mindsets, attitudes, beliefs, memories, habits, or unconfessed sins?

We might want to apply the cross of Jesus to cancer, but resist applying it to bitterness. In such cases, we are unlikely to get the results we want.

Regardless of where you are in your faith journey, Jesus has not and will not leave you or stop loving you. The only question is: How much of yourself are you willing to entrust to Jesus?

We are the only ones who limit how much of God we experience. On His part, God has opened the floodgates to Himself. Open / Comment
