This is confirmed. DAF members have until next week to submit a retirement/separation request if that is the route some of you want to take. I asked if we find out our exemption is denied after this deadline (as most DAF members have not heard one way or the other), if we will have an option to separate/retire after the deadline. No answer yet. Positives of separation: honorable discharge, benefits remain (medical/GI Bill) and possibility of joining again at a later date. This has happened before and those who opted to separate were asked to come back a few years later. I know it’s not a lot of time to think on it but this is just some food for thought.
