Off the back of this, Russia’s stock market dropped at a record-breaking pace, with the Moex index falling 45% at one point. Oil prices also rose to more than $103 per barrel as the conflict in Ukraine means more potential for sanctions that will cut Russia’s energy and resources out of global supply chains.
