Become a City/University Representative today!

‍City/University Representatives are volunteers who work with Alumni Coordinators to assist with the organization of alumni activities in their resident cities/home universities.

Qualifications:
- Successful participation in the FLEХ Program (your current location doesn’t matter);
- Previous participation in alumni activities (preferable);
- Enthusiasm and talent for organizing events;
- Excellent spoken and written English.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and experience;
- Experience in managing social media will be an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Creating and developing an alumni community in their cities/universities;
- Organising at least ONE event in your community per month;
- Writing reports on alumni activities to be submitted to alumni coordinators;


Pros and pros of being a CR/UR:
- Gain communication, time management and organizational skills!
- Become a member of a dynamic team committed to international exchange and cross-cultural education;
- Represent American Councils and strengthen the alumni network;
- Get preferential treatment in alumni opportunities, such as grants;
- Earn certificate and work experience to include in the CV/resume;

2022-08-29 20:17:03 ​​​​In Lviv city hospitals, there are now more than a thousand seriously injured Ukrainians – children, women, elderly people. With severed limbs, amputations,  burns, projectile wounds.

We are launching a project to construct the «Unbroken» National Rehabilitation Center. Our goal is to help Ukrainians remain UNBROKEN. and get all the necessary help here, in their own country, near their families.

Victims of Russia’s military aggression often require complex surgeries and long-term rehabilitation. Unfortunately, full-fledged rehabilitation is not yet available in Ukraine, therefore, people have to go abroad, which is very stressful for them because of the language barrier and the need to separate from their family.
The construction of a new modern rehabilitation center in Lviv is vital not only for the city but for the whole country.

FLEX Alumni Ukraine have  joined fundraising efforts to raise funds for the establishment of  "Unbroken" National Rehabilitation Center of Ukraine. Our goal is to raise $50 000 for the center in three months.

Our first task is to find 100 FLEX alumni willing do donate 100 UAH for the sake of injured Ukrainians.

This way we'll hopefully raise 10 000 UAH in no time, because we are a powerhouse, right?

Numerous fundraising events and social media campaigns will soon follow.

As you’ve seen us post all over, we have been conducting art-for-peace workshops for Ukrainians who fled the war and are now located in Tampere, Finland. The workshops have been very meaningful and helpful, and we have been seeking to make this available for more Ukrainians in Finland and beyond – as well as people affected by other armed conflicts around the world and peace enthusiasts. Luckily, we once had a chat about supporting education for Ukrainians with Claned – and the chat ended with us deciding to collaborate and create a virtual version of my workshops so that more people could join! So welcome to COLOR UP PEACE VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS!

All the content is both in English and in Ukrainian. And we think this could be a great opportunity to also make friends with (displaced) Ukrainians and support them (and yourself) through collective artistic action. By participating in the workshops, you will learn more about digital art-making as a peacebuilding tool, video-making for peace, virtual technologies for artistic change-making and the importance of building a community of like-minded people (like participants of the virtual workshops). The workshops are also designed for community building and engagement, in some places you are able to contribute and share your own work and can use the commenting and chat functions to connect with peers.

The workshops were designed by our founder and artist Lisa Glybchenko. Lisa is a Ukrainian artist, peacebuilder and doctoral researcher at Tampere University in Finland. She founded Color Up Peace in 2016, and since then conducted numerous in-person workshops, which form the basis of this online experience you are about to join.
