Does the soul really weigh 21 grams?
About 100 years ago, a scientist named Duncan MacDougall conducted an interesting experiment on six hopelessly ill patients who were about to go to the next world. The doctor constructed special scales to weigh the dying person's body before and after death to determine the possible difference.
After death, the man lost about three-quarters of an ounce, or 21 grams. According to the doctor, "As soon as life ceased, the arrow of the scale would deflect slightly, as if an invisible part of the body were detached from it. It was found that about three-quarters of an ounce was missing."
