Ancient Indian stupas and modern radar system. Accidental similarity or not?
During his time in power in the 3rd century B.C., the then ruler Ashoka Maurya built an untold number of Buddhist stupas throughout India. According to official data there are about 84 thousand of them!
Here is one example on the left - the stupas at Ruwanwelisaya in Sri Lanka. I hope you know that this is where the mythical battle between the Kauravas and the Pandavas took place, using weapons unprecedented in their power. The stupa was built in 161 BC, the diameter of the dome is 90 meters. And on the right is an abandoned radar station in the Murmansk region.
So I think the similarity between the Indian stupa in Sanchi and the modern radar system is not accidental. I cannot claim that the stupa was built by an ancient civilization, because it looks more like a kargo-cult.
