How to determine the blood type and Rh factor?An analysis is carried out in the laboratory: reagents with alpha and beta antibodies are added to blood samples and they look at the reaction.
If there is antigen A in the blood, red blood cells will start to stick together when anti-B is added, and vice versa - blood with antigen B will stick together when anti-A is added. The blood of group AB will not react to any antibodies, and the blood of group O will react to everything.
The same thing with the Rh factor:
anti-D is simply added to the blood. If there is a reaction, the person has Rh+, if not, Rh–.
