Thank you! I got through the first 33 verses. Some quick thoughts:

- Patrick was the grandson of a priest. Obviously ministers in the 5th Century were able to marry and have children.

- I am impressed with Patrick’s humility and lack of ambition except to do God the Father’s will.

- Patrick gave all glory to Christ and acknowledged his sinfulness before he came to know the Lord, and also acknowledged the enabling grace of God after he came to know the Lord.

- In the midst of suffering as a poorly treated slave, Patrick came to lean upon Christ and learned how to pray. God also miraculously delivered him and showed Himself strong on Patrick’s behalf, all to the glory of Christ Jesus our Lord.

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.”
II Chronicles 16:9a NKJV
