AGAINST HUNGARIAN AND POLISH POPULISM, THE EU WANTS TO SPONSOR NGOs Fabienne Keller, a french MEP, explained at a meeting that Hungary and Poland behave like authoritarian countries that violate EU values.
She went on to admit that, due to Eurosceptic governments, the EU has lost control over Polish and Hungarian civil society. The EU is no longer able to influence these countries.
She finally admits that the only solution, since the EU no longer controls the governments of Poland and Hungary, is for the EU to fund NGOs in these countries directly and without intermediaries, in order to influence political life.
To put it more simply: the EU wants to fund liberal NGOs in Eastern European countries in order to hold these countries and "win them back", by imposing liberal values. A kind of low-intensity colour revolution.
