Recent Chrome OS updates have broken some Chromebook cameras, but Google has released a fix

Some bug reports found in the "About Chromebook" section before the fix was available listed various problems; one user wrote that the camera "just doesn't work" and another that the camera "can't focus properly."

People have also reported problems with several different updates, at least one of which relates to Chrome 97. (Chrome OS currently has version 100.)

Google soon said on its support forums that it had released a fix for the problems in the update.
