Google is leaking our data on a shocking scaleEstimating the size of this market has been hard,
but a new report from the Irish Council for Civil Liberties, a nonprofit organization that has been campaigning for years in the United States and Europe to curb the trade in personal data,
now offers concrete figures.
The report found that advertising platforms transmit data about the location of Americans and Europeans and the pages they view about 178 trillion times each year. In the United States and Europe, Google transmits such data
more than 70 billion times daily, according to the report.
