*TUESDAY MARCH 1*

*GOD DEFENDS THE* *VULNERABLE*

*Psalm 94:1-7*

_O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God, to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth! 2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud. 3 Lord, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph? 4 They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves. 5 They break in pieces Your people, O Lord, and afflict Your heritage. 6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless. 7 Yet they say, “The Lord does not see, nor does the God of Jacob understand.”_

We all must be wary of how we treat people who are having challenges living happily and comfortably. They are always around, with various levels of need. The truth is that every day we move and go about our businesses, we encounter them. What is God’s plan for caring for the people who cannot afford even one square meal?

How is God going to provide for them, when those of us He has blessed with the world’s goods shut our bowels of mercy to these and sometimes judge them? When God said give, He said a “good measure, shaken together and running over, shall men give unto you”. In the same way God is depending on you [man] to put a smile on the face of such people who are overburdened with the troubles of this life and cannot fend for themselves.

If you open your heart, God will show you exactly what to do, from giving them direct financial support to preparing them to be able to take care of themselves. God depends on us to care for the needy in our midst - the widow, the fatherless, and the strangers. We are God’s channels of blessing to them. When we refuse to do that, we incur God’s judgement, and it is not funny.

*Prayer*
Thank God for blessing you with your portion of the world’s goods.
Ask God to lead you to people who need various forms of support so you can bless them.
Father, please make me more sensitive to the needy around me.

*Declarations*
I declare that all I have belongs to God. I owe everything to Him and to the needy He has placed within my reach. My heart shall forever reach out to them. I declare that I shall share with them what God has blessed me with. I am privileged to be a partner with God in taking care of the needy in the name of Jesus.

*MONDAY DECEMBER 13*

*EXAMINE YOURSELF*

*2 Corinthians 13:5-8as*

_5 Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? — unless indeed you are disqualified. 6 But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified. 7 Now I pray to God that you do no evil, not that we should appear approved, but that you should do what is honorable, though we may seem disqualified. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth._

All through our learning experience we wrote examinations and took tests of assessment to give a picture of what we looked like at any point in time. Personal evaluations of this kind have become established in our learning process. Though we do not like it, we still subject ourselves to these, for the simple reason that we want to know what we are capable of and prepare ourselves for all kinds of situations.

Much of the examinations we do, only measure our talents and abilities and the extent to which we have developed them. We do this for the purpose of career opportunities and other great opportunities this life offers for prosperity. Unfortunately, we do not put our personal lives under such scrutiny to evaluate how we are performing spiritually and morally. The critical dimensions of our lives that need closer examination are often left out, and we still don’t get it why we are making little progress in living the abundant life.

Paul challenges the believer to examine himself and see if he is in the faith. That underscores the potential of being in the faith. There are so many good things that come out of being in the faith we should not miss any one of them. If we must strive to be approved, let it be that we are seeking such approval from God, and not from man.

*Prayer*
1. Thank God for His faithfulness in rewarding your commitment to Him always.
2. Pray that you will continue to abound in Christ and stay in the Vine that gives you life.
3. Father, please plant my feet on Solid ground, where nothing can uproot me.

*Declarations*
I declare that in Christ Jesus I am established. My life stands on the Foundation that cannot be shaken. In Him I live and move and have my being. In Him I have victory over the flesh and the devil. In Christ I am complete in every dimension of my life and in Him I get ready for the bliss in eternity in the name of Jesus.

*SUNDAY DECEMBER 12*

*FEAR THE LORD*

*Mal. 3:16-17*

_Then those who feared the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before Him For those who fear the LORD And who meditate on His name. 17 “They shall be Mine,” says the LORD of hosts, “On the day that I make them My jewels. and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.”_

The background to this is that God levelled a rebuke against Israel because Israel said it is futile to serve God and questioned whether it was worthwhile carrying out His requirements. He also talked of the situation where the arrogant were called blessed and evil men prospered and seemed to get away with it.
Naturally when God spoke like this to Israel, you immediately know what follows: judgement. No one predicts the judgement God brings upon Israel to correct them and make them cry unto the Lord again.

Take note of this critical happening here. Those who feared the Lord were not part of this arrogance, and a book of remembrance was written before the Lord for them. This could simply mean that God did not forget those who feared Him.

Listen to what the Lord said: “On that day I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him”. Your guess is as right as mine concerning those who did not fear the Lord.

If all these happened as examples for us who live today, then we are blessed. We have the opportunity to be part of those whose names will be in God’s book of remembrance when judgement strikes. What does it cost to fear the Lord? I think it only costs us our pride; the same thing that goes before a fall. Think about this.

*Prayer*
1. Thank the Lord for the opportunity you have to be spared of any evil that will happen to humanity.
2. Pray that you will always fear and honor the Lord in your heart.
3. Father, please keep my heart upright, fearing and honoring You in all I do.

*Declarations*
I declare that I have experienced the favor and blessing of the Lord in my life and continue to do so. Therefore, God remains the Focus of my worship and service. I uphold Jesus above all things. God’s word continues to drive my life. Henceforth, I declare by the grace of God that I will hold on in obedience to only what God has said in the name of Jesus.

*FRIDAY DECEMBER 10*

*DON’T BE ENVIOUS OF THE WICKED*

*Psalm 37:16-17*

_A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked. 17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the LORD upholds the righteous._

The world today is in a serious mess. Right has become wrong and wrong has become right to many. People are using all the wrong means to get what they want, and they seem to be getting their expectations met. It appears those who use corrupt means are the ones who have the material goods of this life.

We all need a minimum amount of material blessings to live in this world till Jesus comes. The world seems to have set the standards about what we should have in this life and we often find ourselves trying to live by them. This makes people continue chasing the world’s goods sometimes at the expense of righteous living.

We quote every scripture in there to prove that we are the ones who should be riding in private jets and not the unbelievers. As much as this looks logical to the human mind, it is often dangerous to our cause. Remember Jesus did not subject Himself to the rich people of His day. He challenged them unto righteousness. Today we want to compete with them. That is not God’s agenda for us. It is not spiritual to think that if we don’t ride in private jets for example, we cannot win people who ride in private jets. What happened to the Spirit of God in us? Remember, we can do all things according through Christ who strengthens us.

We can’t be envious of the people who are called the billionaires of the earth. We should not even want to show our Christianity by the abundance of the things we possess. Simply be the child of God you are.

*Prayer*
1. Thank God for continuing to be your Source of sustenance and the Supplier of all you need.
2. Pray that you will learn to be content with what you have at any point even as God adds to it.
3. Father, please let Your peace abide in my heart against the chase for material things.

*Declarations*
I declare that I am rich according to God’s riches in Christ Jesus. I am not in competition with anyone about material things. I have what I need always because God provides for me. I will have from God what I need now and in the future. My heart is settled in Christ and I am very satisfied in Him.

*THURSDAY DECEMBER 9*

*HOLD FAST TO WHAT YOU HAVE*

*Matthew 24:9-13*

_9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved_

The notice of Jesus’ Second coming is more than 2000 years ago. We know that because Jesus Himself told His disciples He would come again. It is not an idea someone wrote. It is not an interpretation the writers of the gospel gave to something they heard. Jesus went ahead to even tell some of the things that will happen in the world ahead of His coming.

The number of years this promise has taken does not mean it is not going to happen. Play back to the promise of the Seed of the woman coming to crush the head of the serpent. That took way more than the 2000 years. When the fullness of the time came, Jesus appeared on the earth to fulfill that promise.

Do not let any post-modern thinker, or any humanist or any of such persons argue with you concerning this reality that will hit the world. Jesus even said it would happen as in the days of Noah - suddenly. It means that we all have the responsibility to keep this promise alive in our hearts and let that influence our thinking and behavior.
Today we are exhorted to hold fast to this faith amid all the mental, emotional and physical persecutions of the devil and evil men, because Jesus is faithful and has power to do what He says.

*Prayer*
1. Thank God for the assurance of coming back to the earth to take us home.
2. Pray that your faith will be strong against all odds confronting you in this life.
3. Father, please breathe afresh on me power from on high to hold on to Christ.

*Declarations*
I affirm my faith in the second coming of Jesus Christ. Jesus has power to do what He promises. No man or devil can change God’s timetable and eventual plan for humanity. I therefore hold fast to my faith in Christ. No amount of persecution will make me shift my position. I look forward to Jesus’ coming and in this I purify my life in the name of Jesus.

*WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 8*

*WALKING IN CONSTANT* *DISCIPLINE*

*1 Corinthians 9:24-27*

_Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified_

The Apostle Paul uses a familiar scenario to teach a critical principle for Christian experience. Every four years, athletes around the world gather for the Olympic games. In between the four years, all athletes put themselves through constant discipline. They engage in several tournaments. If you have a chat with one of the top athletes, they will tell you their preparation agenda, right from what foods they eat, what they avoid, the regular physical exercises they do, etc.

One word simply describes their lifestyle – discipline. In their preparation, they factor in also the regulations for their specific events. They do all these to avoid being disqualified in the finals. On the tracks they also in particular wear very light material, avoiding anything that will hamper their movement.

Paul wants us to view the Christian life like a race. Though Jesus has won the victory for us, we still must run according to the rules to experience the victory. If you live extensively according to the flesh for example, the victory will remain a dream far beyond your reach. The apostle after all he had experienced in Christ continues to discipline himself. For as long as we live in this mortal body, discipline is inevitable.

*Prayer*
1. Thank God for the victory Christ has already won for you and your family.
2. Pray that you will put yourself through the required discipline to reap good results.
3. Father, please help me subdue all desires of the flesh and walk in constant discipline.

*Declarations*
I declare that I am a candidate for victory in the Christian experience. I am destined to wear the crown awaiting me. In this life I put my flesh under subjection. I appropriate the work of the cross in my life. My spirit shall always go ahead of my flesh. I will live a life of discipline till my work on earth is done in the name of Jesus.

FRIDAY DECEMBER 3

DON’T CURSE OR MISTREAT GOD’S PEOPLE

Genesis 12:1-3

_Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you._

The blessing God promised Abraham consisted not only of material things. It has a peace and security component. God said He would bless all who blessed Abraham, and He would curse all who cursed him. This blessing applies to all of us today who have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God said He would bless all who bless us and curse all who curse us. Note well that curses are not just evil declarations people make about you. Very often when we hear someone say, “you will amount to nothing,” or “nothing you do in this life will go well”, then we think of a curse. What about acts that are meant to bring trouble, torture and any form of displeasure to us.

The curse has several manifestations. If anyone does not verbalize the curse but is inflicting on you manifestations of a cursed life, that amounts to cursing as well.
Here’s the point. You must be careful how you treat someone who has a blood covenant relationship with Jehovah. If you treat them well, you attract a blessing, but if you maltreat them in any way, you equally attract a curse.

There is no reason for the children of God in the same family to curse or do acts against each other amounting to curses. Live your life reversing every curse that hangs around you. Make it your determination to bless everyone around you, especially the brethren.

Prayer
1. Thank God for making you a beneficiary of the blessings of Abraham.
2. Pray that you will treat all others in the family of Abraham with love and not with hate.
3. Father, please guide my heart so I will always attract blessings by relating well with Your People.

Declarations
I declare that I am blessed and so is every believer in Christ. As we all belong to God and are beneficiaries of the blessing of Abraham, I am careful to treat all as God’s children. In my actions towards my brethren, I attract God’s blessings. I declare that as I bless others so shall I be blessed in the name of Jesus.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 2

VICTORY THROUGH THE BLOOD

Revelation 12:10-11

_10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death._

In the midst of the several distractions going on in the world today, the fundamental truths of Christianity seem to be pushed into the background. The message of the blood of Jesus and its several blessings for the believer seems not to feature as prominently as it did before. It is often left for the charlatans and the false prophets to mimic to get some following.
The true church, I mean those who have not aligned with the devil in any way should go back and teach the power and privileges of the blood of the Lamb. The theme of the entire bible is the Lamb of God. Everything we read leads eventually to Calvary. They all point to the Seed of the woman coming to crush the head of the serpent.

God laid the foundation for the essence and power of the blood throughout the Old Testament, both through the writings of the prophets as well as the experiences God ordained for His children when coming into His presence.

God affirmed the power of the blood of Jesus in this very popular verse in the Book of Revelation. There is only one victory over the devil, and it is through the blood of the Lamb. We do not need any other event or happening. The blood is powerful enough. You do not need to add anything to the blood. Simply appropriate it to whatever situation and you are assured of victory.

Prayer
1. Thank God for the blood of Jesus that guarantees our victory anytime anywhere and in any situation.
2. Pray that your faith in the blood of Jesus will never be shaken by any philosophy or ideology.
3. Father, help me by the Holy Spirit to hold on to the blood of Jesus.

Declarations
I declare that I am a beneficiary of the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is for my cleansing and my righteousness. The blood makes me accepted before God. In the blood I have victory over the devil and over all demons. The blood guarantees me a place in heaven when this life is over. I declare that I shall overcome all things by the blood like the saints who have gone ahead of me in the name of Jesus.
