Ethiopia's Lake #Wenchi has been chosen as the best tourist village of 2021 at the 24th General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization, which is being held in Madrid, Spain. Lake #Wenchi has been selected best from 170 tourist villages across the world.
Lake #Wenchi, located in the southwest of Shoa, Oromia region, is a site of a crater lake and splendid view.
Such an international recognition of natural resources would "set an example for others and motivate them to do more," Ambassador Nasise noted, adding that tourism is one of Ethiopia's top priority sectors. Accordingly, she said, community-based sustainable tourism development activities will be carried out.
