The longest night

How long can a night last? Mine has been going on for four years. And I don’t see the dawn yet, not a drop.

Yes, the sun rises and sets, but that is not it. Just a change of lighting, nothing more. People do and say something, but the words are no longer the same, and the things feel different somehow. We still laugh, but with a hysterical wheeze, out of spite to the world, and not because fun.

That is how it happens: one day the sun turns into a fake, and the clock seems to be familiar, even ticking, but time does not go. It stopped. You stopped too. Because you are dead, just haven’t figured it out yet.

And death is night, only the endless one.
