Since some weeks we started an archiving campaign on the database.
This takes a lot of resources and sometimes @grocerylistbot is a bit less responsive than it used to be.

We are doing our best to find an equilibrium to finish the data archiving as soon as possible while having the smallest impact on the service.

2020-08-16 14:35:53 We really want to thank all the donors that celebrated with us our 5th anniversary!
With the money collected, we paid all the bills for the last year! That's amazing!

To show you all our gratitude we decided to roll-out a major improvement!
This is something that we always wanted as a feature in Grocery List Bot but was not technically possible to implement.
Thanks to the introduction of Markdown Version 2 this wish started to take shape and today we are excited to introduce the possibility to 'tick' elements in the list!

From now you can mark the list elements and they will be displayed with a bar on it!

This is useful to keep track of the things that you bought without physically deleting them from the list! Also, this feature is super interesting for people that are using Grocery List Bot as a TODO list!

Enjoy the new feature!

Today, I am telling you about @GroceryListBot because is a Special day!

Exactly 5 years ago, the 2 July 2015, @GroceryListBot was launched on Telegram!

This project started while I was unemployed and the main goal was to learn new skills, I wrote the code on a super-old laptop and I launched it!

As of today, Grocery List Bot reached hundreds of thousands of Telegram users, and counts every day thousand of active users! Thank you!

To celebrate this important event I called the fundraising campaign to keep Grocery List Bot running for years to come!

From today there is new option for group chats!
The Grocery List Bot welcome message can be disabled!
You can disable/enable the option using the /settings command and navigating with the arrows buttons.

The option is visible only in group and supergroup chats and is particularly useful if you have a very high rate of new users!
