"Multiverse Madness" still won't be able to conquer the $1 billion milestone
Perhaps something will change, but that's the conclusion box-office analysts came to, looking back at estimates and a very large second weekend drop, which stopped at around 70% worldwide. Also very funny details were noted by some sources:
First, Disney expected to break the maximum bank from the film to the point where it forced the major chains to fill all their halls with screenings of the film. It's not unreasonable to recall information about the heavily slashed running time, which gives more opportunities for more screenings.
Secondly, the company has a very strange policy of publishing data, sometimes deliberately overstating it; sometimes understating expectations from a certain period, so that the numbers seem higher and more substantial.
It's funny that a couple of years ago another studio was in a similar situation with a highly anticipated crossover on its hands.
