What is the importance of pausing in the IELTS speaking test? It depends what you mean here.If the examiner asks you a question and you pause while
you collect your thoughts then
that is fine. If you pause mid-sentence because you are looking
for fairly basic vocabulary or grammar, then this is an issue. If you pause, and pause and pause again because you are trying to find the right word,
then you showing that your English is Band 6 at best. @IELTSmaterials_N1

Common Mistakes in English INCORRECT:
I don't get no respect. CORRECT:
I don't get any respect. Although common in regional dialects and in earlier forms of English, the use of a double negative is considered to be incorrect in modern standard English.
Double negative: a construction that contains two negative elements such as no and no #common_mistakes

Jenny asks: I would like to ask why I can't use "like" in IELTS essay? Besides, some tutors told me that using some cohesive devices
like first, second, third, nevertheless for the ielts writing task are toоo simple.
We should use more advanced cohesive devices like some phrases. Do you agree with that? @IELTSmaterials_N1 trusted channel in IELTS preparation

Ways you can get in trouble with your IELTS writing tasks: Using informal English in the IELTS Writing tasks. Informal expressions such as “loads of / tons of” should be replaced with “many” or “much”; “fed up with” should be replaced with “lost his patience”, etc.
Using slang. Keep it out of your IELTS essays, letters or reports. You can’t write “dunno” instead of “don’t know”, “wanna” instead of “want to” or “gonna” instead of “going to”.
SMS-like spelling. We type “u” instead of “you”, “c” instead of “see”, “IMHO” instead of “in my humble opinion”. None of these can appear in your IELTS exam, unless you are specifically trying to mess up and get a lower score than you deserve.
