First of all, it is important to know which ideas are considered to be relevant. Many students think that ideas must be unique and interesting. However, there are no extra marks for 'amazing, splendid, etc.' ideas. This is because the examiner wants you to demonstrate your ability to write an essay in English that is supported by evidence and clearly answers the question. The most important thing is that your ideas are relevant and specific to the question being asked.

Therefore, I do believe that the simplest, most obvious ideas are the best ones because they are the easiest to understand and write about. Planning your essay is crucial too. Also, I have noticed that the first ideas you think of are normally the best. Once you have relevant ideas, ask yourself direct, specific questions when developing your body paragraphs. Don't beat around the bush, get to the point, state your central idea in the first sentence of your paragraph and then develop this idea asking yourself specific questions like 'Why? How?' and so on. You can include examples if they help you to answer the question and further develop your idea.

Keep in mind that this will not improve your score overnight. Only when you get proper feedback and start putting what I wrote into practice, will you be able to develop your essay properly. Things like this take time.
