Why don't I give advice on IELTS anymore?
Everybody is desperate to get the score they want. And, yet, very few of them actually put a lot of effort into moving toward that goal. This is one of the reasons why I always back off when a person comes to me asking for a particular piece of advice. Well, I can relate to them, in a way, but get this: there is no one-size-fits-all approach that works equally well for everyone.
Just imagine. How do you think I myself came to learn all this stuff? Do you think someone was there to shed light on the path that I was going to step on? Do you think I just happened to get an 8.0 overnight? The answer, my friend, is a resounding
NO!
I went the extra mile to outperform my peers just like any other successful language learner did. I realized that I was the one responsible for my actions, and hence do the job myself. I sacrificed stuff: parties, sleep, friends, and etc. I'm not suggesting you should be doing that. I'm just giving you a good rule of thumb of success. Another reason why I don't give any advice has something to do with myself. I hadn't prepared for IELTS in an ordinary way: I just had fun while learning English. And so there is no any particular book I would recommend reading that will just give you all the knowledge about IELTS and everything since I also didn't follow any book while preparing.
So, stop asking for pieces of advice, for you won't follow them anyways!
