A warrior has fallen, but we can continue his legacy and take heart in this war by remembering his steadfast courage and commitment.

Uncle Max’s role with the IMOParty was to be a voice for indigenous Australians, and in fact all Australians. He lived through the 'sorry days' and 'genocide' and wanted to avert another for his brothers and sisters, and for future generations...

..I remember meeting Uncle Max and being drawn by his cheeky humour and his bravery to stand for the truth regardless of its lack of popularity.

This will be a hard time for all of us, especially his family and for his partner Marelle Burnum Burnum, who also lost her father this year. We will do everything we can to support and love her through this tragic time.

To our many friends and incredible community that knew and had connection with our beloved Dad/ Brother/Pop/Uncle Max Djarla Dulumunmun Harrison , with heavy hearts we wish to inform you all that he has made the next journey to the dreaming on the 11/12/21.

A man that stopped at no end to help, teach and share cultural knowledge and spiritual healing right up to his final moment.

Today in the physical realm we lost someone that who we will forever miss, however the teachings, culture and song lines will forever be etched within so many people in mind, body and spirit and the legacies will long live on.

The family are currently deep in a sorry business grieving period right now and we appreciate the respect, time and space to go through this process.

WHAT WILL IT COVER?

In this webinar, human rights lawyer Peter Fam will provide information about the law in Australia around whether children can consent to medical procedures, with or without parental consent. It will cover:

- what does the law say? What is the concept of a 'mature minor' and when does it apply?

- the administration of medical procedures in schools, and whether parents must provide their consent first; and

- what if a child is administered a medical procedure in the absence of parental consent?

- there may also be some time for audience questions.
