Operation Hafurda Forest.Lt Col Rana was tasked with destroying two terrorist camps in the Hafurda Forest in the Kupwara district of J&K. He discovered four well-fortified caches that were crammed with weapons and ammunition, including tons of explosives. With one brave & swift blow, he destroyed these hiding places. Another well-hidden hideout caught his eye. In the subsequent action, the terrorists used violent fire from their well-fortified bunker. He organized his troops, crawled into the bunker, and threw hand grenades at it. 2 FM came out and fired hard. He killed them both instantly.
Meanwhile, the terrorists seriously wounded him by firing violently from another location. When another terrorist approached his soldiers officer not caring for his own life, attacked him and killed him in a fight. In this act, this brave officer suffered fatal gunshot wounds and made the greatest sacrifice.
