US stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower. At the close in NYSE, the DJIA declined 1.47%, while the S&P 500 index lost 1.81%, and the NASDAQ Composite index fell 2.10%. Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the NYSE by 2,459 to 821 and 110 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2,603 fell and 1,280 advanced, while 192 ended unchanged.
