Whenever you're in a group situation and everybody has to take turns to do something (giving a presentation for example) and they ask for a volunteer, ALWAYS go first. Your audience will be fresh, the organiser will be happy someone stepped up, and you can get it over with straight away.
- The bar of expectations is raised exponentially for the final presenter.
- Being brave and going first can also give you a bit of leeway when it comes to being judged.
- Also, if you’re nervous just remember everyone else is thinking about how their own turn will go and won’t really be paying that much attention to you. You go last, everyone is watching.
