China , Huangguoshu Waterfall
The Huangguoshu Waterfall, along with other eighteen waterfalls of the Chinese "Eastern Switzerland", is included in the Guinness Book of Records.
Falling from a height of seventy-eight meters and reaching a width of one hundred and one meters, Huangguoshu is most beautiful in the summer rainy season.
The waterfall has been forming for seventeen million years. At first, water flows flowed into the rocks, washing out a karst cave in them. Then the vault of the cave was destroyed and powerful jets of Huangguoshu burst to the surface. According to scientists, all this happened about ten to twenty–seven million years ago.
The name of the waterfall is associated by local legend with the fruits of the magic yellow tree, which, after a hundred days of ripening, allow you to get the treasures hidden there from the bottom of the reservoir.
