Austria , Ambras Castle

Ambras Castle was built in the 16th century by order of Archduke Ferdinand II of Austria.

Ambras Castle is a beautiful palace with carved ceilings, unique frescoes and mosaic doors. This is one of the most important castles in Austria, built in the Renaissance style.

The Art Hall has a rare collection of caskets, bronzes, statuettes, wood carvings. Also in Ambras there is an exceptional collection of small children's armor and medieval Rustkammer equipment, in the center of which is armor belonging to the giant Bartolomeo Bon (his approximate height is 260 cm).

The most unique collection is a collection of outlandish rarities, among which various exhibits unusual for those times are presented: exotic fish, corals, a portrait of a man with a hairy face, a two-headed animal, a rare image of Count Dracula, a trap chair for drunken visitors, a sinister and at the same time unique figurine of Death made of bone.
