Software Engineers at Rakuten are researchers and developers who create and implement complex software solutions. Our engineers develop scalable software systems and collaborate on multitudes of smaller projects that have universal appeal -this requires adept research skills and awareness, along with the ability to effectively interact and ask questions. 
You’ll develop competencies with data structures and algorithms, along with a technical fascination for how things fit together. We focus on being a collaborative, global organization consisting of engineers with the highest levels of technical depth, programming skills and a keen eye for quality.
JOB DESCRIPTION

Our interns work with our teams and have the autonomy to shape their role on some of our projects.
You are expected to learn new tech stacks & implement it on your tasks.
Write software that will be used in production, and has meaningful impact to our customers.
Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews or design discussions.
Collaborate with other engineers (and people from other disciplines) to proactively seek and incorporate feedback.
Drive improvements to the architecture to make it more scalable, maintainable, testable.
Learn quickly by asking great questions, finding how to work with your mentor and teammates effectively, and communicate the status of your work clearly.

REQUIREMENTS

Inquisitive to learn new technologies and curious about the advertisement domain.
Quick learning capability.
Fluent with coding in at least one programming language.
Good communication skills, fluent in English, both written and oral.

INTERNSHIP PERIOD

Available for at least 3 months. Preferably more.
Part-time interns who can commit at least 3 working days a week are also welcome to apply.
