US Market
Again quoting “Investors aren’t afraid of adversity, what they afraid of is uncertainty.”

SP500 and NASDAQ at ALL TIME HIGH once again after the Powell assures that he sees tapering in bond purchases by year end. This means they'll print less money.

In fact, many skeptics claimed that the great bull run since last March was boosted by the huge influx of money into the economy from the fed via bond purchases, which is why there was a mini sell down a while ago in anticipating of this news.

On the bright side
Printing less money=less inflation=less likely for fed to raise interest rates=good for the stock market :) Open / Comment

2021-08-26 11:36:24 Interesting to note that whenever $MAYBANK announces earnings and dividend surprises QR in the afternoon, the share price jumps accordingly, but there’s a lag, enough for us to skim through the report and trade it. One would assume the opening price at 2:30 would have already factored in the update with a gap up, but it seems like people are only starting to collect after a few minutes. This happened when they announced the 38.5 cents dividend for Q4 last year as well. It’s a merely 1-3% only so speculators won’t even bother, but I point this out because it might matter to some dividend investors. If you invest in maybank for their 50-60 cents of dividend, getting maybank 20-30 cents cheaper means getting half a year of dividend in advance. Just a note. Open / Comment

At least 40% of Malaysians are now fully vaccinated.
At least Singapore and Indonesia’s PM called our PM yesterday to congratulate him
Klci is once again back to 1550 area rising 1.5% today .

At least with najib, umno leaders are quite business friendly as we saw the index hitting almost 1900 twice during his time. In a recent news, Sabri said he wants to strengthen our economic fundamentals to attract foreign investors. Whether it’ll be realised or not, at least this is his stance.
