Vacancy:
European Patent Attorney at Tenneco

Qualifications and skills:
• Technical degree in engineering or physics or related field.
• Qualified as a European Patent Attorney.
• 3-8 years PQE, including patent preparation and prosecution, with a law firm and/or in-house law department.
• Excellent oral and written communication and advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with senior management.
• Hard working, well organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.
• Commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
• Fluent in English language
• Experience in Patent oppositions, Patent infringement & validity studies, Nondisclosure agreements, Development agreements
• Qualified as German or Swedish Patent Attorney (or similar national qualification in relevant country)
• Qualified lawyer or completion of formal legal studies beyond patent law
• Qualified trademark attorney/agent or familiarity with trademark practice a plus
• Fluent or near-fluent in German language
• Knowledge of automotive industry and technology
• Proficiency in Anaqua and Legal Tracker

Responsibilities:
• Support the preparation and review of invention disclosures.
• Provide opinions on patentability.
• Coordinate and lead patent committee meetings
• Conduct and oversee the drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications globally.
• Deliver IP landscape assessments and freedom to operate opinions to manage IP risks in bringing new products to market.
• Support global IP strategy to accelerate new product innovations and sustain competitive advantage in key market around the world.
• Prepare and negotiate intellectual property agreements.
• Support opposition, IPR, and litigation activities as needed.
• Support IP issues in M&A assessments and negotiations.
