Qualifications and skills:
• Master's degree in (computer) science, technology, or engineering,
• Qualified Indian Patent Agent,
• 7+ years of experience of patent drafting and prosecution,
• Excellent communication, consultancy, and networking skills,
• Excellent analytical skills. Experience in IoT, software and artificial intelligence is preferred,
• Proactively seeks to understand needs of internal clients in research and the business. Ability to handle complex requests, quickly adapt to changing needs and set priorities,
• Organized, accurate and detail oriented,
• Excellent networking capabilities to build a close professional relationship with the Innovation teams at multiple locations (e.g. Bangalore and Pune) and coaching these Innovation teams on IP issues, helping them build portfolios and think in ecosystems,
• Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities:
As an Intellectual Property Counsel, You are responsible for shaping the building of our IP portfolio, focusing on innovations in the healthcare field, including IP related to information technology (such as software, databases, mobile apps, and artificial intelligence) to provide optimal IP protection to the business so that we can create maximum value from that portfolio through licensing and other commercial IP-based deals. Advising Philips’ businesses and research organizations in all IP-related matters with a focus upon patent creation and prosecution. Managing third-party IP risks.
