Liquid telescopes - the future of astronomy?

Right now, NASA is testing the possibility of creating a liquid telescope on the ISS. In microgravity conditions, it is planned to try to create telescope lenses and mirrors from liquid polymers, and then make them harden with ultraviolet light. That's what the nails do in salons, but if it works out in space, humanity will be able to build huge and cheap telescopes.
